Our Story

A yellow delivery truck with "helmrich Möbelwerk Innenausbau Selbstbaumarkt" printed on its side. The truck is parked beside a building, and a person wearing overalls is unloading long pieces of wood from the back of the truck.

Richard’s father with his truck in the early 80s

Helmrich is rooted in a family legacy of craftsmanship, spanning generations of furniture makers in Germany. Richard carries this tradition forward with a fresh, design-led approach, combining the rigour of his training as a master furniture maker with the vision of contemporary interior design.

From a young age, Richard was immersed in the rhythms of the workshop, surrounded by tools, materials, and the quiet patience of the making process. After qualifying as a master furniture maker in Germany, he studied interior and furniture design in Portugal and began exploring how thoughtful design, precision craftsmanship, and warm, human-centred service could come together in one seamless experience. Helmrich Portugal is that vision in motion.
