The Walnut Study

CUSTOM MADE CABINETRY · ERICEIRA · 4 WEEKS

THE BRIEF

The owners of this family home in Ericeira wanted furniture that fits the way they live and work, where everything has its place without ever looking like storage. A lowboard to bring calm to the TV wall, and a home office designed around their days: organised, warm and quietly practical. Walnut was the material of choice throughout, set against dark sage green walls.

THE WORK

THE LOWBOARD.

Beneath the TV, a walnut lowboard designed for this exact wall. Integrated cable management and a dedicated compartment for the TV box keep the technology out of sight, while a flap opens smoothly to reveal what's inside. From every angle, nothing but clean lines and the natural grain of the wood.

THE WARDROBE WALL.

Where plain white cabinets once stood, a walnut wall now does far more than it shows. Behind its doors, a wardrobe with an integrated clothes lift brings the rail down to arm's height, its interior lit automatically as the doors open. Push-to-open drawers, lined in black leather, sit flush with the front.

THE OFFICE.

A walnut desk built for everyday work, with slim leather-lined drawers, a dedicated file organiser and a hidden cable management system. Above it, floating shelves with angled, dimmable light give every object its own soft glow. By the window, an open walnut bookshelf with integrated LED holds the library.

THE BOOKSHELF.

By the window, a slim open bookshelf in walnut, tall and narrow enough to sit quietly against the wall. A warm LED line runs beneath every shelf, lighting each row of books from above and bringing out the grain of the walnut back panel. By day it reads as furniture; in the evening it becomes a soft light source for the whole room.
